Private Workshops for Groups at The Blue Room

Crafting is a great way of spending time with like minded people. Learn something new, or just enjoy time with friends. We offer a variety of private craft sessions for groups, which are held at The Blue Room. Prices include tea/coffee and homemade cake from our Tea Room, and many include all materials.

Small groups up to 8 people

For small groups we can arrange many of our regular workshops at times to suit you and just for your group.

Prices are the same as our regular workshops. The required number is usually 6 (4 for anything using sewing machines) for the workshop to be exclusively for your group. These workshops can take place during the day or evening, some are also available at the weekends.

Most workshops take 2 to 3 hours unless otherwise noted. All are offered subject to availability of the teachers and space at The Blue Room.

Please note – Some workshops require the customer to bring equipment and/or materials. Examples of the workshops available:

Larger groups of 10 or more

For groups of 10 or more we can offer taster sessions from the following options, all materials are provided:

Introduction to weaving (2 hours)

  • Weave a small bowl using weaving sticks

Pricing:
£20pp, minimum 10 people, additional £10 per person up to a maximum of 15.

OR

Choose two activities, one from each group (45 mins to 1 hour each):

Group A

  • Fused glass coaster (1 per person); or
  • Fused glass pendants (2 per person); or
  • Needle felted heart or flower brooch (1 per person)

Group B

  • Kumihimo braiding – an introduction to the technique; or
  • Chainmaille earrings (1 pair per person)
  • Needle felted heart or flower brooch (1 per person) – only available if selecting pendants option from group APricing:
    £25pp, minimum 10 people, additional £10 per person up to maximum 16

Please note:

Fused glass items will be returned to The Blue Room for collection after approx. 2 to 4 weeks.

Evening workshops – you are welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks. We have glass tumblers, and small plates available. If you require any other crockery or glassware please bring them with you.

Booking and payment

Please contact us to discuss your requirements and preferred date/s. We will then contact the relevant teachers to check availability. We suggest you start talking to us at least 2 months in advance of your preferred date/s as our teachers are busy people!

We require a deposit of 50% of the minimum payment at the time of booking. The balance must be paid at the beginning of the workshop.
