Whether you’re a complete beginner, a rusty returner, or just struggling a bit, our knitting teacher, Ann Kelson, can help you. Working with a small group (maximum 4 people) Ann will cover the basics such as casting on, how to hold the yarn, knit and purl stitches, casting off, and troubleshooting issues you have with these skills. Knitting is the ultimate ‘slow’ craft – it takes time and practice to be able to knit efficiently, but brings its own rewards in the satisfaction of creating a beautiful garment or decorative item from a length of yarn. Well worth investing time up front to get the basics right.
Want to learn with a friend and can’t make our scheduled workshops? We can arrange sessions for a minimum of 2 people on a date and time to suit you. If you’re looking for very specific help that needs one-to-one tuition or support we also offer private lessons at £15 per hour with either Ann or Lesley (who runs our Knit and Natter group).
The cost of the workshop includes basic materials to get you started, or you’re welcome to bring your own Double Knitting yarn and 4mm needles. Private lessons do not include materials. We stock a range of King Cole yarns and patterns plus all the bits and bobs you need to keep knitting after the workshop.
We also offer crochet workshops click here for more information.
