Fused Glass Garden Suncatcher
July 7, 2018 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm£35
Create your own version of this fused glass Garden Suncatcher. Sarah will provide you with ready cut panels for you to create your own unique design. You can either make 2 narrow (each approx 6cm * 30cms as illustrated in the image) or one wide piece (approx 12cms* 30cm). Sarah provides all equipment and a range of glass in colours suitable for the project. You will be asked to select your chosen sizes when booking.
These items are suitable for hanging in the garden or in a window. We recommend you don’t leave them in the garden all winter, the glass itself will survive, but the hanging materials will decay over time.
At the beginning of the workshop, Sarah talks you through basic information about the glass and how to construct your Suncatcher. Please be aware the glass is sharp and must be handled carefully. Some glue, including superglue, is used to stabilise the glass during transportation. This will burn off when the items are fired. Sarah takes your finished creations away to fuse in her kiln, returning them for collection approx. 2 weeks later.
Please note these workshops are NOT suitable for anyone under 14. Young people under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult working with them throughout the duration of this workshop.
About half way through the workshop we’ll provide you with a FREE hot drink from our tea room menu, plus some tasters of our delicious homemade cake. You are, or course, welcome to purchase a drink and/or cake when you arrive. Why not stay after your workshop and enjoy a browse around our beautiful shop. During the summer months we also offer a delicious cream tea in our tea room (subject to availability). All of our workshops take place within our welcoming shop and tea room, where you can be inspired by the work of our many local talented artists and makers.
Sarah’s workshops are very popular, with customers returning time and again to enjoy creating something beautiful and unique. They fill up very quickly so we strongly recommend early booking.
